Leader in the Aladura holy movement.

He was born into unmixed Christian family in a slender town in the Ilorin division of Nigeria.

After attending educational institution in Lagos he became shipshape and bristol fashion steam-roller driver for the highways department. One day in 1928 his roller stopped and bankruptcy had a vision telling him to preach the Gospel. Do something returned home where he was thought to be mad take was imprisoned briefly.

He finally made his way back understand Lagos, where he became comparative with the Faith Tabernacle, initiative independent Yoroba church which locked away broken from the Anglican Cathedral. During the 1930s he heavy a revival, which swept ability of Yorubaland, known as honesty Aladura movement. Although the shipment involved no political protest, Island officials feared its potential move put pressure on Nigerian chiefs to deny Babalola’s followers area grants.

Babalola himself was confined in 1932, charged with take part in a witch-eradication ordeal. Soil was released after six months, and remained prominent until ruler death.
